Elsie Earl Studios is an ART SPACE

It all began in a 700 sq ft space inside Journey of Faith Chuch in Ann Arbor -  fall of 2015.     When I moved to New Buffalo in 2016 I began renting various rooms in the social hall of St. John's UCC on W. Buffalo Street.   Covid contributed to a move-out in 2021.   The present address became available in Fall of 2022.

Focus has mainly been on visual arts.  Instructors have offered pottery, painting, drawing, ballroom dance, yoga, Eccentrics, martial arts, crafts, improv, etc.  We were very active in Art Attack from 2018-2023, hosted the New Buffalo Chamber of Congress once, held Artists Receptions, and had a presence at the New Buffalo Farmer's Market.

For a minute I entertained the idea of selling the building and closing the studios but the improv troupe refused to go away.  There are now three workshop/classes being offered by Gregg Fraley at full capacity.  At least four performances per year are happening at full audience.  We have added music before the improv performance and just recently, a stand up commedien/storyteller.   So far those have been the Resurrection Blues Band (Rodney Mills, Scott Ovens, and William Stone) and comedien Chris Hauri.

We have plans to add one man (or woman) shows (calling all playwrights and actors/actresses!), music jam/open mic sessions, maybe bring Genius Night back, poetry jams, writing workshops, storytelling workshops and performances, etc.!
