Modern Calligraphy with Julie Wildman

Saturday, 10:30-Noon ET  Date TBA

To register: email

Join us for a new calligraphy class which introduces students to the very

popular handwriting style that is seen everywhere today.     Chicago-area

calligrapher Julie Wildman will be the instructor.

Using a pointed pen, students will begin exploring the basic strokes and

lowercase letters of the traditional Copperplate hand. We will continue into

exercises that break the rules of the traditional hand to give us the more

modern, playful look which is popular today.

Julie Wildman Bio

Julie Wildman is a highly regarded professional in the fields of graphic design, commercial lettering, calligraphy and workshops. Her studio is in northwest Indiana, only 30 minutes from downtown Chicago.

Her calligraphic journey began over 20 years ago with a year-long master class in traditional tools and techniques of hand lettering. Since then, she has studied with well-known lettering artists from all over the world. Her work has been exhibited in juried shows throughout the Midwest and the U.S., including the Newberry Library in Chicago.

In 2007 and 2014, her pieces “Psalm 117” and “An Alphabet Book,” respectively, won the Newberry’s Purchase Prize Award and became a part of the Library’s permanent collection. Her work has also been published in several issues of Letter Arts Review, as well as Bound & Lettered, a publication featuring the works of accomplished calligraphers and book artists.

She enthusiastically shares her love of “beautiful writing” with young and old by teaching calligraphy for staff development classes, on-site promotional events, community programs and personal growth workshops throughout the Chicagoland area, U.S., and Canada.

Candlelight Slow Flow

Come unwind and unwrap your day with Candlelight Slow Flow. This class is designed to destress and let go- a perfect way to end the day.

We begin with a bit of centering, then gently flow through our asanas, following the breath, taking time to really focus on ourselves and our intentions, releasing anything that no longer serves us, allowing us to live right here, right now, in this very moment. Just BE.

An extra long Savasana at the end will leave us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready for a blissful night's rest.   All levels welcome.

Empyrean Vinyasa

Empyrean Vinyasa brings to life beautifully flowing asanas, sacred breath, and delightful meditations to give every student, of every level, the ultimate Yoga experience. Each class will guide the student on an epic journey, gaining strength and peace, along with calmness of the mind and calmness within the soul.

Empyrean Vinyasa is a physical, mental and spiritual practice with a view to attain a state of permanent peace of mind in order to experience one’s true self.

All levels welcome.
